Police are investigating a serious accident that occurred yesterday afternoon at Adventure Truck Line Dam, Essequibo Coast, involving minibus BJJ4666 driven by Budraj Ramlall, 23, and occupants Akash Persaud, 17, of Adventure Essequibo Coast and 30-year-old Michelle Gouveia, also of Adventure Essequibo.
Enquiries disclosed that the minibus was proceeding east on the access road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The minibus turned turtle in a trench on the southern side of the road.
The occupants were taken out of the minibus by public-spirited persons in a conscious state and taken to Suddie Public Hospital.
They were seen and examined by a doctor on duty who admitted them as patients at the said institution.
The driver of the vehicle escaped from the scene and remains at large.
