Remy Ramsammy, 30, of Lot 75 Waterloo Bath Settlement Village, West Coast Berbice was killed yesterday evening after he crashed his car, PAB 2399 in a fence at Number 8 Village, West Coast Berbice.

Mohanie Jagdeo, 19, of lot 133 Block 2 Bath Village West Coast Berbice, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident suffered injuries.

Enquiries disclosed that PAB 2399 was proceeding west along the southern drive lane at a fast rate when the driver suddenly lost control of his vehicle and ended up on the northern side grass parapet. He collided with a concrete fence, before spinning around and further colliding with a utility pole.

The driver, along with the occupant, received injuries about their bodies.

They were conveyed to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital, West Coast Berbice, by public-spirited citizens. They were both examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced the driver dead on arrival and admitted Jagdeo for observation. Her condition is regarded as stable.

Further investigations are in progress.
