Yuri Garcia Dominguez, who is one of the principals of Accelerated Capital Firm Inc (ACFI), was today slapped with conspiring to fake a COVID-19 test result, charge.

Dominguez, a Cuban National, of Track A, Coldingen, East Coast, was before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly, just weeks after his wife faced a similar charge.
The particulars of the charge state that on July 27, at Georgetown, he conspired with Ateeka Ishmael and others to forge a covid-19 test to show a positive result.
After pleading not guilty, he was released on $200,000 bail and told to return to court on November 5.

Garcia was represented by attorney-at-law Darren Wade.

According to the Court Prosecutor’s facts, Dominguez and his wife, Ateeka Ishmeal, who are currently facing multiple charges over several Ponzi scheme operations, were supposed to attend court however the court was informed that the couple tested positive for COVID-19. The pair’s attorney, Dexter Todd had shown two COVID-19 test results reflecting positively. An investigation was launched to clarify whether the tests were indeed from the Ministry of health and it was later revealed that the test results were fake.

It is alleged that the couple, to elude the court, plotted with others to mislead the court. The two were expected to be charged before a Vigilance Court but because of the test results produced to the court, they were not charged. Legal advice was then sought after the investigation and as such, the couple was charged on separate occasions with conspiracy to commit a felony.

Ishmael was charged in August and was released on $200,000 bail. The couple also faces multiple fraud charges which are before several courts.
