Akeem Ming, 26, of  Lot 4505 Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown, was pronounced dead on arrival to the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was involved in a vehicular accident yesterday around 22:30hrs on the Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, Public Road.

According to police, motorcycle CJ 1204, driven by Ming along with pillion rider, 17-year-old Crystal Hoasjoe, were
proceeding east along the northern driving lane on the northern carriageway when it was alleged that Ming observed a police pickup and begun to accelerate the motorcycle.

He reportedly lost control and collided into the right side of motorcar # PLL 3026, then into the right side rear of motor lorry # GYY 7016 – both being stationary on the northern side of the road facing east.

As a result of the impact, both the rider and pillion rider fell onto the road surface where they received injuries to their bodies.

They were both picked up in an unconscious condition and conveyed to Georgetown Public Hospital where they were both seen and examined by a doctor on duty. Ming was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body is presently at the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.

Pillion rider Crystal Hoasjoe was admitted a patient in the female surgical ward suffering from multiple injuries about the body.
