A known offender was today remanded after being charged with stealing over $1 Million worth of items.
Louie Lewis, who is currently on bail for simple larceny, was brought before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts where he was charged with robbery with aggravation.
The particulars of the charge state that on February 9, at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he robbed a man of a printer and cartridges, valued at $111,000, an SD 800 Nikon valued at $160,000, and other camera accessories, total value $1, 259,600, property of the man. It is also alleged that during, before, or after the robbery, he used personal violence toward the man. Lewis is also facing a charge which’s states that he unlawfully assaulted the man.
Lewis pleaded not guilty to the charges. However, bail was denied after the Court heard from the Prosecutor that Lewis has other pending matters before the court. Police Prosecutor Annalisa Brummell told the court that the robbery was committed during the day. She added that Lewis positively identified the man.
Bail was refused and the matter was adjourned until October 18.
