Marlon LaRose, 26, a Logger of Maria Henrietta, Upper Berbice River, was charged today for the murder of Kevin Hercules, 24, which occurred sometime between September 12 and 13 at Wiruni, Upper Demerara River.
The accused appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan. He was not required to plea to the indictable charge.
He was remanded to prison until October 15.
The accused was arrested on September 17, days after Hercules was fished out of the Berbice River.
Hercules’ family filed a missing person’s report after he failed to return home. His body was later discovered floating in the Berbice River. Police had confirmed that Hercules’ face was mutilated and there was a slit to his throat.
