Two La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara (WBD) sisters were robbed last night when armed men invaded their home around 21:00hrs.
The sisters have only been identified as a 29-year-old waitress and a 20-year-old cashier.
Enquiries disclosed that the victims were at home when the elder went into the veranda and saw two unidentifiable males approaching her armed with a handgun and knife.
The suspect armed with the gun discharged a round in her direction and pulled her into the house and demanded money.
He then dealt her a lash to her forehead with the gun which caused her to receive injuries after which her sister – the second victim – handed over her purse.
The suspects then made good their escape through the veranda door, carting off one grey and black Samsung Galaxy tablet valued $40,000; one silver iPad in a brown case (value unknown); one rose gold iPhone 8 Plus, valued $140,000; one peach coloured purse containing identification card, Republic Bank Card, N.I.S card and $15,000 cash
Investigations are ongoing.
