Morris Torres was charged this morning at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court for Attempt to Commit Murder Contrary to Section 103 (g) of the Criminal Law Offences Act Chapter 8:01; and Possession of Firearm Without Licence and 3) Possession of Ammunition Without License Contrary to Section 16 (2) (a) of the Firearm Act Chapter 16:05.

The accused appeared before Magistrate Crystal Lambert where the charges were read to him. He pleaded guilty to the latter of the two charges.

As a result, he was fined $100,000 for each charge and sentenced to two years imprisonment.

However the suspect is required to return to court on 2022-01-17 to answer to the attempt to commit murder charge.
