Local company, GAICO Construction is getting ready to up its game. The company announced today that it has secured a partnership with international consultancy, Rev1 Energy.
The partnership was inked with the signing of an Memorandum of Understanding by representatives of both companies present at the International Energy Conference and Expo being held at Marriott, Kingston.
Rev1Energy is a full service project consultancy helping projects run smoother through proprietary technology, talent, and teams.
Its website states that from its inception, Rev1 has always been strong in the power market, supporting fossil fuels, renewables, and nuclear projects, but has expanded into oil & gas to provide clients with the same dedication to customer service, quality execution, and safety for which it is known.
GAICO’s Chief Executive Officer, Komal Singh told the media that he expects Rev1 Energy to bring to Guyana the expertise and skillset required for the massive transformational development anticipated.
He said, “It is good to have a company that can bring the expertise and transfer that knowledge to the local workforce.”
Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar witnessed the signing of the MOU.
He told the media that the conversation has long been about how Guyanese companies can bridge the technological gap in the new economy which involves oil and gas.
Indar said that this is exactly the model being promoted by PPP/C government in order to boost local content and build capacity.
He said that the government is encouraging local companies to do follow in this direction. “Look for a good match,” he said. Indar said that local companies should evaluate their weakness then find a good match outside of Guyana to bridge the gap.
He said that this is the way to “beat the learning curve.”
