Police say that 23-year-old pillion rider, David Kenford of Aranaputa Valley, North Rupununi Region Nine, is now in a critical condition at the Lethem hospital after he was involved in an accident on the Annai Main Road, North Rupununi yesterday around 15:30hrs.
According to a police report, Kenford was on a motorcycle, the number, owner’s name and address of which is unknown, being driven by 16-year-old, Jernel John, who lost control of the motorcycle and collided into a tree stump.
As a result of the collision, they both fell onto the gravel surface where they received injuries about their bodies. They were picked up by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious state and taken to the Annai Health Centre, where they were seen and examined. John regained consciousness while Kenford remained unconscious.
They were both referred to Lethem Regional Hospital, where they were again examined and later admitted as patients.
John sustained a broken left wrist while David Kenford is in critical condition suffering from multiple injuries to the head.
Further investigations are in progress.
