Detectives in Regional Police Division 4’A’ are investigating the murder of Vanessa Anderson, 22, of ‘B’ Field Dam, Sophia.
Vanessa Anderson was murdered yesterday at about 18:30hrs, at ‘B’ Field Dam Sophia, by a 20-year-old female and her 29-year-old sister, both of ‘B’ Field Dam, Sophia.
Investigations revealed that the victim and the suspects who were neighbours had ongoing problems, with the suspects oftentimes accusing the now dead woman of calling the police to search their house.
On the date and time mentioned, the victim was in front of her yard, when she was approached by the two suspects and an argument ensued.
During the argument, the 20-year-old suspect and her accomplice dealt the victim two stabs – one to the upper left back and the other to the left shoulder. After being stabbed, the victim stumbled into her yard and collapsed.
The 22-year-old woman was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. She is at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
The two suspects, subsequently turned themselves in at the Turkeyen Police Station along with the knife used to stab the woman. They remain in custody as investigations continue.
