Businessman and well-known photographer Keron Bruce, along with the detectives, are now searching for answers as to why a lone gunman opened fire at his home and vehicle last evening.

Guyana Standard understands that sometime around 10:30 pm, the gunman rode up to Bruce’s and fired close to a dozen shots. Bruce’s minibus and parts of his home were shot. Neither Bruce nor his family was injured.

Soon after, Bruce took to social media with a video showing the aftermath of the brazen attack. Without words, and sounding breathless, Bruce panned his camera along the riddled bus and parts of a front window of his home.

The source told this publication that investigators will be interviewing Bruce, along with checking possible surveillance evidence that can identify the shooter.

Bruce was alleged last year to have been the voice behind the famous social media cartoon character “Mudwata” and was charged with using a computer to embarrass and humiliate a local journalist.

Bruce of 295 Soesdyke Back Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was arraigned before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that on January 25, 2021, at Soesdyke, EBD, he used a computer system to disseminate information about journalist/editor Leroy Smith, knowingly to be false.

Bruce who was represented by Attorney-at-Law, Bernard Da Silva, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted $100,000 bail.
