Newrest Group, a global leader in multi-sector catering, is seeking reliable Guyanese suppliers of imported fruits and vegetables to meet the growing needs of the oil and gas industry.

Newrest, which has been operating in Guyana since 2019, stressed that its procurement policy is strongly focused on fresh, seasonal, and sustainably produced products.

Its minimum requirements include certifications and registration which show Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) or equivalent. Interest companies are also expected to show what actions they have taken with the aim of reducing their environmental footprint (example: optimization of logistics flows, reduction of packaging), proof of compliance with the list issued by the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board, and existence or implementation of traceability system based on the registration of shelf life or batch numbers.

Newrest which is headquartered in Luxemburg said only prequalified bidders will receive invitations to submit bids of the Call for Tender process.
