Three individuals have been remanded to prison following their arrest in connection with the robbery at Eureka Medical Laboratories. Reuben Hopkinson, 30, a driver residing at Lot 825 Farm East Bank Demerara (EBD), Kacey John, 36, a labourer residing at Lot 183 BB (EBD), and Cephyl Drepaul, 37, of Lot 71 East La Penitence, were charged on June 13, 2023, with three counts of Robbery Under Arms.

The charges were filed under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act Chapter 8:01. The accused individuals are alleged to have committed the robberies against security guards, Stephan Dickson and Tevin Denny, and forcefully taking a safe containing cash and other items with an estimated value of $4,660,000. The stolen property belongs to Andrew Boyle, the owner of Eureka Medical Laboratories.

On June 7, 2023, Reuben Hopkinson was apprehended, followed by the subsequent arrests of Kacey John on June 9, 2023, and Cephyl Drepaul on June 10, 2023. The trio was presented before Chief Magistrate (ag) Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at Georgetown Magistrate’s Court #1.

During the court proceedings, the three accused pleaded not guilty. Despite their pleas, bail was denied, and they were ordered to be remanded. The case has been adjourned until July 12, 2023, for further legal proceedings.
