United States-based oil field services firm, Halliburton Guyana Inc, has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the construction of a new office to support its local operations.

This move aligns with Halliburton’s commitment, announced in 2021, to have 100 percent of its operations based in Guyana. To achieve this goal, the company aims to significantly increase in-country purchases by at least 50 percent and create more regional opportunities for local businesses.

This is evident in its push for a new office to continue and expand its operations.

Halliburton, a well-established entity since 1919, holds a prominent position in the global energy industry. With a diverse workforce of around 40,000 employees from 130 different nationalities and operations spanning across 70 countries, the company specializes in assisting clients in maximizing the value of energy resources throughout the entire reservoir lifecycle. This encompasses tasks such as hydrocarbon exploration, geological data management, drilling and formation assessment, well construction, completion, and optimizing production over the asset’s lifespan.

Halliburton’s presence in Guyana has undergone substantial growth since its inception in 2015. Initially providing cementing solutions exclusively to ExxonMobil, the company has since diversified its service offerings. Its current operations in the region encompass a wide range of services, and it proudly houses one of the largest mud plants in the hemisphere.

Furthermore, Halliburton was among the select group of major oil and gas players that received approval from the Ministry of Natural Resources for its Local Content Annual Plan, underscoring its commitment to supporting local development.
