Authorities are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred at approximately 07:30hrs yesterday (Friday) on the public road at Pearl, East Bank Demerara. The incident involved a motorcycle with license plate #CM 6193, registered to and operated by Mark Marks, a 41-year-old resident of Charlotte Street, Georgetown, who is now deceased.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the motorcycle was traveling south along the Eastern side of the public road when the rider, Mark Marks, lost control of the bike, leading to a fall onto the road surface and skidding for a considerable distance. The impact resulted in severe injuries to the head and other parts of his body.
Good Samaritans who witnessed the incident rushed to the aid of the unconscious motorcyclist. They transported him to the Diamond Diagnostic Center, where he was examined. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the medical facility. Investigations are ongoing.
