Newrest Guyana recently published Requests for Expression of Interests (REOI), seeking companies or individuals to participate in the supply and delivery of fresh fruits and vegetable items. The tender, issued by Newrest, a leading provider of catering and hospitality services, aims to source both locally grown and imported produce to meet the company’s operational needs from April to October 2024.

Newrest, which has been operating in Guyana since 2019, stressed that its procurement policy is strongly focused on fresh, seasonal, and sustainably produced products.

Quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) considerations are paramount in Newrest’s procurement process. Suppliers submitting bids are obligated to comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the companies QHSE policies.

The ordering process outlined in the REOI mandates prompt confirmation from suppliers upon receipt of purchase orders. Within 24 hours, suppliers must verify product availability, quantity, best-before dates and delivery timelines. Any discrepancies or anomalies in the order must be promptly reported by the supplier to facilitate resolution before delivery.

Newrest Guyana also acknowledged the fluctuating nature of its operational requirements and provided guidance regarding volumes and purchasing forecasts. While indicative volumes are provided within the tender, suppliers are reminded that these figures are subject to change based on the evolving needs of Newrest’s activities.

The company said the REOI represents an opportunity for local and international suppliers to engage with Newrest Guyana, contributing to the company’s commitment to sourcing high-quality produce while upholding stringent quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.

Interested parties that meet the minimum requirements are encouraged to submit their proposals by sending an email to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected] “‌”).
