Cops in Regional Division 6 are probing an accident which occurred on Saturday, May 4, 2024 on the Number 5 Public Road, Corriverton, Berbice.

The incident involved a motorcyclist and a motorcar driven by a 26-year-old man from Number 51 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.

The details surrounding the incident remain hazy, but Guyana Standard understands that the motorcyclist, 32-year-old Mahendra Narine of Number 76 Housing Scheme, who sustained injuries and was hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital, died on Monday, May 6, 2024, while receiving care.

An autopsy performed Narine’s body revealed that he died as a result of a ‘fractured skull’.

The post mortem examination was conducted yesterday by Government Pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh at the Georgetown Public Hospital’s mortuary.

The man’s body was identified by his brother, Adrian Narine.

On completion of the examination, the body was handed over to relatives for funeral arrangements.
