Dear Editor,

As we draw closer to Nomination and E-day, the political parties, both traditional and new ones, have begun campaigning. With that being said, I’ve been closely monitoring the progression and doing my own assessment of them.

The We Invest In Nationhood (W.I.N) Party for example is relatively new and is spearheaded by US-sanctioned businessman Azruddin Mohamed. Apart from being sanctioned, Mohamed is presently before the court facing charges of tax evasion.

Before the formation of that political party, the businessman was loud and proud about not wanting to enter into politics, noting that he’s doing philanthropic work because he cares about the people. That was proven to be a lie. He said the PPP/C was responsible for him being sanctioned and that again is a blatant lie. He said any association with him wouldn’t get your visa revoked or attract sanctions from the US government and again, that is lie.

In a video recording, he said his logo is a jaguar but when it was rejected by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) he changed his tune and said it’s a leopard. It has become clear that the intention of Azruddin Mohamed isn’t pure, with some of his own family members making statements to this effect recently.

To all Guyanese, I say don’t be fooled by the self-centred and ill-intention of the political party called “W.I.N”. A vote for them is a vote for economic destruction.

Yours truly,
Quincy Anderson
