A man was shot dead during an altercation at Prasville, Wismar Linden this morning.
The victim has been identified as Keron McDonald, a 29-year-old miner of Block 22, Wismar, Linden
Police in Regional Division 10 said they are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at about 10:00 hours on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Prasville, Wismar, Linden.
Preliminary investigations indicate that McDonald was speaking with a 29-year-old man from Half Mile, Wismar, when an altercation reportedly developed between them. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly retrieved a firearm from a motor car and discharged a single round in McDonald’s direction, striking him on the left side of the chest.
McDonald was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect was later intercepted by police ranks and taken to the Wismar Police Station. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
No firearm has been recovered so far.
