Police are investigating the alleged murder of Ifeng Cao, a six-year-old Chinese national, which occurred this afternoon, Wednesday September 30, 2026, at Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
Initial enquiries revealed that at about 15:45hrs, the child sustained a chop wound to his neck during an incident involving a male Chinese national.
The child was taken to the De Kinderen Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor.
The male Chinese national was subsequently arrested and is presently in Police custody.
Investigations are ongoing.
