The project is a partnership between the government and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). It was delivered under the Adequate Housing and Urban Accessibility Programme, which supports improvements to housing conditions and community facilities in Regions Three and Four.

Minister of Housing Collin Croal said the facility is an investment in residents’ health and well-being, offering people of different ages and abilities a secure and accessible environment to remain active.

“We want our young people to have positive activities in which they can participate. We want them to have the space and the support to develop and nurture their talents,” he added.

He further urged residents to protect the facility and make it an active part of community life.

“The real value of this facility will be measured by what happens here in the months and the years ahead,” he said.

The facility will be operated and managed by the Neighbourhood Democratic Council, with support from a community-based management committee.  (Department of Public Information)
