The ballots that have been recounted, thus far, support the notion that the Statements of Poll (SoPs) in the possession of the opposition, the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), are accurate. At least, this is according to PPP/C candidate, former Attorney-General, Anil Nandlall.

The PPP/C had made public its SOPs after the close of polls on March 2. It is based on these SOPs that the party is claiming victory. It is these SOPs that the party continuously references when debunking the results declared for Region Four by this district’s Returning Officer, Clairmont Mingo.

The party is on record challenging the incumbent regime, the A Partnership for National Unity + Alliance for Change (APNU+AFC) to make its SOPs public, but the party did not. It, in fact, condemned those SOPs publicised by the PPP/C.
But Nandlall is now claiming that the recount of ballots has thus far, vindicated his party’s SOPs.

“By and large, the process has confirmed the accuracy of the PPP’s Statements of Polls, and that is the fundamental point I want to make…99 percent or so, of what has been done today, confirms and vindicate the accuracy of the PPP’s Statement of Poll…All we have done today; the ten boxes, every single one of them has confirmed in a material way, 99 percent accuracy that the PPP’s Statements of Poll is [sic] accurate,” he told media operatives outside of the recount venue, the Arthur Chung Convention Centre, Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown.
