Anand Sukhu, called ‘Kero Boy’ of Babu John, Berbice, was found dead yesterday in a trench at Ramlass, Port Mourant.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the 43-year-old man was last seen by the Port Mourant Public Road consuming alcohol.
He was later found lying motionless and face down in a nearby trench clad in a yellow short-sleeve jersey and short camouflage short pants.
He was examined and no marks of violence were seen on his body. A reddish substance which appeared to be blood was seen dripping from his nose.
The body was then picked up and escorted to the Port Mourant Public Hospital and was examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced him dead.
The body was later transported to Ramoo’s Funeral Home. A post-mortem examination is expected soon.
