Police are probing a shooting incident committed on 24-year-old Steven Surujbally at about 20:30hrs on Wednesday at Third Street Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Investigations have so far revealed that on the date and time mentioned, the victim, who lives in Cummings Lodge was walking home when the suspects rode up to him on a motorcycle from a northern direction.
The men dismounted and headed toward Surujballi. A scuffle ensued, during which, the pillion rider pulled out a handgun and shot Surujballi in his chest.
The suspects then rode away in a southern direction. The victim was escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital by EMT personnel. He is being treated. His condition is stable. Investigations are ongoing.
