Alvin Parag, a 49-year-old businessman from Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, and Alberttown, Georgetown, was charged today with trafficking in persons.
Parag is accused of committing the offence on a 31-year-old female Cuban national, which occurred between March 29 and June 7, 2025, at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
He appeared today at the Diamond Magistrate Court before Her Worship, Senior Magistrate Judy Latchman. The accused pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge.
Parag was remanded to prison.
The matter was postponed to October 6, 2025, for statements and disclosure.
