The Guyana Police Force is investigating a fatal accident that occurred around 20:30 hrs on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the intersection of Proctor Road and Kara Kara Public Road, Linden.
The crash involved a motorcycle, registration number CP 6912, and a motor car, registration number PAE 7246, which was being driven by a 45-year-old excavator operator from Central Ameliaโs Ward, Linden.
As a result of the collision, Latrel Whinfield, 19, a machine operator of Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden, and Isaiah Richards, a student (age and address unknown at this time), lost their lives. Whinfield was the rider of the motorcycle, while Richards was the pillion rider.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcycle was traveling east along the Kara Kara Public Road at a high rate of speed when it collided with the right side of the motor car, which was turning north onto Proctor Road. The impact threw both the rider and pillion rider onto the roadway, leaving them with severe injuries.
The two were picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where they were pronounced dead on arrival. Their bodies were later transported to the Gjetsco Funeral Home Mortuary for storage, pending post-mortem examinations.
Both vehicles have been lodged at the Mackenzie Police Station for examination. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to assist with the ongoing probe, while the driver of the motor car remains in police custody.
