Sarah Elizabeth Shivpersaud, a 26-year-old domestic worker of Fyrish Village, Corentyne, Berbice, has been charged with the murder of her daughter, seven-year-old Isabella Dabidyal.
The woman appeared on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court before Her Worship Michelle Mathias, where the charge was read to her. She was not required to plead and was remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned to May 12, 2026.
According to reports, the seven-year-old was allegedly killed at her Fyrish Village, Corentyne, Berbice home on April 5, 2026.
A post-mortem examination conducted on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, confirmed that the child died of manual strangulation.
The examination was performed by Government Pathologist, Dr. Vivekanand Brijmohan, at Bailey’s Funeral Home, Number Four Village, West Coast Berbice.
