The body of 62-year-old Lionel Thomas who attempted to slit his estranged wife’s throat two weeks ago was found last night by investigators in Berbice. The pensioner’s body was discovered hanging from a tree at his farmland at Rose Hall.

The 62-year-old man killed himself a week after torching the home of his estranged wife,  Omawattie Alvin. She lived at Lot 192 Area R Babu Jaan, Port Mourant, Berbice.

Two Wednesdays ago, the suspect allegedly broke a champagne bottle on his pregnant daughter, Leana Thomas’s head before attempting to slit his estranged wife’s throat with a piece of broken glass. When the pair managed to escape to a hiding place, he reportedly set their home on fire.
