In recognition of World Science Day for Peace and Development, ExxonMobil and the University of Guyana collaborated on a two-day Geophysics short course on Wednesday and Thursday.

The course which is the second to be hosted at the University saw 71 participants, and covered a multitude of topics such as exploration, field scale geophysics, seismic acquisition and processing, rock physics, and seismic interpretation. According to ExxonMobil in a release to the media today, this particular course leveraged lessons learned on subsurface integration in exploration, and introduced concepts from the development and production of oil.

ExxonMobil Guyana noted that it was proud to contribute to the development and promotion of science education in Guyana through this initiative.
