A 58-year-old woman met a tragic ending this morning when her arm was ripped from a minibus in an accident at Success, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Several persons have been injured and were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

The deceased has been identified as Denise Culley, a mother of three of Lot 89 Vigilance, ECD. One of Culley’s arm was ripped from her body following the accident involving a route 44 minibus with registration number BTT 4910.

According to information received, the minibus was heading to Georgetown at a fast rate when it suffered a blow out and crashed into the concrete strip at the centre of the road and toppled several times before coming to a halt.

The Guyana Standard has been informed that the deceased’s body was almost out of the mangled bus with her arm on the roadway in a pool of blood. The mother of three was heading to Bourda market where she sells as a vendor.

The driver has since been arrested.
