A 21-year-old man who was partying all night on Saturday with a friend, lost his life in a car accident this morning
It happened around 05:00 hrs on the Golden Grove, West Coast Berbice Public Road.
The deceased has been identified as Lincoln Carmichael of Seafield, WCB. He died at the scene of the accident.
The driver, Shemar Hercules of Bushlot, Berbice, is hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
The Guyana Standard has been informed that while heading home, the driver reportedly lost control of the car and slammed into a utility pole.
Both men were said to be intoxicated. They were pinned in the vehicle and had to be pulled out by residents and taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where Carmichael was officially pronounced dead and the driver was transferred to GPHC.
