A Labourer, who allegedly went into the Ruimveldt Police Station Compound and stole two car mirrors, was today remanded to prison for the offence.

Thirty-year-old Eric Abrigo, of Albouystown, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on October 13, 2019, at Ruimveldt Police Station Compound, he stole two car mirrors valued $60,000, the property of Julius Smith.

According to information, on the day in question, the defendant was outside fetching solar panels when he saw the victim parked his vehicle in the station compound.

The court heard the victim then went into the police compound and removed the articles mentioned in the charge and started running.

An alarm was raised and ranks from the station were able to apprehend the defendant.
He was then taken into custody, hence charged for the offence.

The court Prosecutor objected to bail being granted to the defendant citing that he has no fixed place of abode.

The Magistrate, after listening to the facts, remanded Abrigo to prison until November 8.
