Auditor General, Deodat Sharma has expressed his displeasure with the fact that the Guyana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) legal representatives have failed to submit information in respect of all judgments, litigations and claims involving the Authority for the period January 1, to December 31, 2017.

At the time of reporting in September 2019, Sharma said that these remain unrepresented. Similarly, in 2016 no confirmations were received by the Audit Office.

At the time of reporting in September 2019, Sharma said that the names of the legal counsel contracted by the Authority were presented for 2018. It was observed that the Authority incurred expenses totaling $53.469M for 12 cases.
