Customers awaiting letters and parcels are asked to note that mail from the US, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Bahamas, Belize, Costa Rica, Bermuda, Grand Cayman, Brazil and the Caribbean are affected by the suspension.
The closure of borders and the suspension of mail by many countries have affected the ability of Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) to effectively carry out its obligations, the entity said in a release today.
Customers are advised that both incoming and outgoing international mail have been affected. This does not apply to mail from Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago and Tortola.
GPOC said that it will continue to monitor the situation globally, and to make the necessary adjustments to its service.
