The government of Guyana is seeking shops and supermarkets to supply dry and fresh ration for COVID-19 pandemic relief assistance vouchers to provide supplies to vulnerable citizens.

Through newspapers advertisements, the government invited interested suppliers to submit expressions of interest to supply bottled and canned food products, as well as dry and fresh ration at an estimated value between $25, 000 and $32, 000 monthly per voucher.

According to the ad, suppliers who are successful will have to ensure that their business has adequate space that is in compliance with the Public Health Ministry’s social distancing guidelines and the establishment of sanitation facilities.

Interested suppliers are invited to fill out a form which can be accessed at https://help.mosp.gov.gy/x/#srYALja8 or can be uplifted at the Civil Defense Commission Office between 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs between June 11th to 17th.

Interested persons or authorized representatives are advised to submit completed forms along with business registration and recent National Insurance Scheme (NIS) and Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) compliances to the Civil Defense Commission office or at https://help.mosp.gov.gy/x/#srYALja8.

Expressions of interest will be evaluated based on specific criteria in order to shortlist qualified suppliers, after which the successful suppliers will be contacted before being confirmed for public listing.

Only individuals/households who meet at least one of the following criteria will qualify for consideration for public assistance:

Individuals/households currently benefiting from Public Assistance provided by the Ministry of Social Protection (MoSP); individuals/households who applied for Public Assistance and are awaiting a response from the MoSP; individuals/households who suffered a loss of income due to COVID-19 and households headed by senior citizens or persons with disabilities.

Those reaching the aforesaid requirements can obtain applications forms from the MoSP’s website at https://mosp.gov.gy/ or https://government.gy/eform/241. Eligible applicants must submit the completed application forms online as well as the required supporting documentation.
