Crime Chief, Senior Superintendent Wendell Blanhum says that there is “absolutely” no evidence to support the contention that the killing of 16-year-old Isaiah Henry and his 19-year-old cousin, Joel Henry, was politically-motivated.

This was his response to the media this afternoon during a virtual press conference.

Blanhum is calling on the protesters in West Coast Berbice to allow the investigators to conduct the probe uninterrupted. He spoke about efforts to talk to villagers and to revisit the crime scene being stymied by demonstrators.

So far, seven persons are in police custody assisting with the investigation.
