The Linden Mayor and Town Council (LMTC) has received a $10 million subvention from the central Government to complete several projects for the remainder of 2020.

Linden Mayor Waneka Arindell explained that the subvention would be used to fund several developmental projects in the town.

“The projects from this year’s subvention remain the same, and the monies will focus on the repairs and maintenance of our burial grounds, the renovations and upgrades of historical sites, and the creation of some green spaces,” Arindell explained.

She added that another project is the beautification of the Linden riverfront and other areas. Mayor Arindell highlighted that the Council’s primary focus is the creation of community parks on the Wismar and Mackenzie shore.

“We are looking to see if we can put two community parks, one where we have the martyrs monument. The other park will be close to Egbert Benjamin so that we can improve that area a little more,” The Linden Mayor concluded.
