The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), on Thursday, arrested a 33-year-old hire car driver along with another male after they were busted with 50.664 kilograms of marijuana.
According to information received, CANU officers conducted a narcotics operation in Moleson Creek Berbice, Corentyne, where they intercepted motorcar HC 9071 with two males.
A search of the hire car was conducted in the presence of the two occupants, and several parcels of cannabis were found in the vehicle. Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
