Police say they are investigating a fatal accident which occurred yesterday about 15:30hrs on Arapaima Street East La Penitence.

According the police reports, the incident involved a motorcycle, CK 7533, owned and driven by Kemston Richards, a 26-year-old resident of Plum Park, Sophia and two pedestrians, a 15-year-old (no name provided), and 24-year-old Kevin Fletcher, of East La Penitence.

Enquiries disclosed that the motorcycle was proceeding North on Arapaima Street at a fast rate of speed, when the driver lost control and collided into a utility pole.

The motorcyclist then fell on the roadway and sustained injuries about his body, whilst his motorcycle traveled further in the eastern direction and collided into the aforementioned pedestrians.

The motorcyclist was picked up in an unconscious state by public spirited citizens and taken the Georgetown Public Hospital Cooperation, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.

The body is presently at the said hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.

The 15-year-old pedestrian was seen and examined by doctors on duty and later sent away.

Investigations are ongoing.
