A Police Lance Corporal, stationed at Beterverwagting Police Station, is now nursing a broken pelvis after he was hit by a motorcar.

According to reports, Lance Corporal Culwin Forrester, along with three other ranks, were on patrol duty around 22:35hrs on February 14 in vicinity of Triumph Agriculture Road, East Coast Demerara, when they noticed an unknown silver/grey 212 motorcar parked on the western side of the road.

The ranks exited their vehicle and approached the motorcar, which suddenly drove off and collided with Lance Corporal Forrester. The impact caused the rank to fall to the road surface receiving several injuries about his body.

He was then picked up in a semi-conscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was seen and examined and later admitted a patient in the male surgical ward for a broken pelvis.
