Yesterday, a post-mortem examination was done on the body of four-month-old Kaylee Atkinson of Annandale, Essequibo Coast by Dr. Nehaul Singh. The cause of death was given as traumatic asphyxia.
According to the police, on March 14, the babyโs mother, Tricia Atkinson, woke around 1:55hrs to breastfeed Kaylee when she noticed her husband, Troy Williams’ foot on top of the child and a โwhitish substanceโ coming out of her mouth. Williams had reportedly gone to bed in a drunken state. Kaylee was pronounced dead at the Suddie Hospital.
