25-year-old Martin Blair, a mason of Lot 578 Seven Street ‘D’ field Sophia today appeared before Magistrate Roshell Liverpool at the Sparendaam Magistrate Court. He was charged with the murder committed on Daniel Boutrim.

It is alleged that on March 15, 2021 at ‘D’ Field Sophia, he murdered Boutrim.

Guyana Standard understands that Boutrim, 23, died at the Georgetown Public Hospital just two days after he was stabbed during an argument with Blair, who is reported to be his brother-in-law.

According to the police report, Boutrin and his brother-in-law got into an argument over a bicycle which Boutrin borrowed last year and subsequently lost.

It was reported that as the argument escalated, the suspect picked up a cutlass while Boutrin armed himself with a knife.

Police said the suspect’s parents intervened and asked Boutrim to leave. As he was about to enter a taxi, he was then confronted by the suspect who stabbed him several times.
