This morning around 08:15hrs, a motor lorry with five persons en route to Pappy Show Landing stopped at the Itaballi checkpoint to be recorded. During the processing of the vehicle, police conducted a search on the tray of the lorry and found a quantity of cannabis leaves, seeds and stems wrapped in a transparent plastic and concealed in a navy blue jacket.
The occupants were all arrested and taken to the Bartica Police station. The suspect , who was part of the five arrested, eventually admitted ownership of the said narcotics. The drug was weighed and amounted to 517 grams.
