The Government of Guyana (GoG) is actively considering the rollout of another phase of COVID-19 cash grant relief, says Vice President (VP), Bharrat Jagdeo. However, should this initiative be realised, the monies will be given to vulnerable groups, the elderly and single parents.

He noted that selected groups will benefit because of the difficulties in administration. He said that the ongoing relief exercise has been ‘laborious’. He said that it would be easier to target specific groups to eliminate challenges in distribution and at the same time, provide assistance to those in dire need of help.
