Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Rajin Persaud, a 39-year-old Goldsmith of Foulis, East Coast Demerara, which occurred at 19:30hrs last night at Hope, West Enmore.

According to reports, motor lorry, GWW 8721, being driven by Tillackram Dindial, was offloading sand, and upon reversing, Dindial’s wife alerted him that he hit something.

She told her husband that it was one of their dogs, however, upon closer inspection, the driver noticed the goldsmith under the truck with blood about his body.

Persaud was then picked up by public-spirited citizens and escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty at the said institution.

A breathlyzer test was conducted on Tillackram, which revealed.000BAC.
