Five more persons have lost their lives to the novel-coronavirus, taking the death count to 587.
According to the Health Ministry, these patients were admitted with COVID-19 like symptoms but died while receiving care at medical institutions. Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned positive tests.

Meanwhile, Guyana has recorded an additional 120 cases of the virus, taking the number of confirmed cases since March 2020 to 23,795.
Fifteen persons are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
So far, 22,125 persons have recovered.
