Alwyn Eastman, 27, of 65 Quamina Road, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, was stabbed to death yesterday during an altercation with another man at the Beterverwagting Access Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Police say that Eastman was with his cousin, Josh Alves, around 18:20hrs walking along the road heading in a northern direction when the 29-year-old suspect approached the men and started arguing with Eastman.
A scuffle ensued and both men fell into a nearby trench. The suspect then got up and dealt Eastman two stabs, one to his chest and another to his right-side abdomen. He then fled the scene and remains at large.
Eastman was picked up in a conscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigations are ongoing.
