Hardat Mangru, 68, was found dead in the Enterprise Backdam, East Coast Demerara, on Thursday around noon.
Mangru was declared missing two days ago. The Guyana Police Force subsequently launched an investigation which led to the discovery of the man’s body. It was partially decomposed, a police source said.
The body was positively identified by the man’s son, Deosarran Mangru. Police saw no visible marks of violence on the exposed parts of the body.
It was then uplifted and escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted soon.
