A 15-year-old, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) girl awoke around 03:00hrs on October 31, 2021, to find a male, 19-year-old, relative choking her.
A scuffle ensued which alerted other relatives. He subsequently released her and fled the scene.
The matter was reported to the police and an investigation has since been launched.
